1 Month Old!

Titus is a month old. It is so hard to believe! He is getting into his own little groove now. He is enjoying his baths (as long as he is completely submerged and Daddy dumps warm water on him), sleeping a little longer, and controlling his head a lot better. Here is his one month mug shot!

We also attended a friend's daughter's baptism this month and Titus was very well behaved:)

Introducing Titus Joel Ferguson

Well, it has been a long time since our last post! A lot has happened and I have not had any time to update the blog! Joel and I were (and continue to be) so blessed by the birth of our son, Titus Joel Ferguson on February 24, 2009. I went in for a routine doctor's appointment at 39 weeks and Dr. Simpson felt that, due to my high blood pressure, he wanted to go ahead and induce me that evening. We got all of our stuff together and headed to the hospital on the 23rd and they began the induction around 11:00 pm. By the next day at 2:00 pm, I was having mild contractions and the doctor checked my progress. Our little boy was nowhere near the birth canal and I was nowhere near dilated. Fun times! The doctor gave us a few options and after praying about it, and I asking insane questions (i.e. Me to the doctor: "You have done these before, right?" The doctor, nurses, and Joel: giggles and silence....hey, I was about to be cut open!) we opted to have a C-section. Everything moved pretty quickly after that!
Joel came in and sat up by my head after they numbed me. When the doctor was getting the little one out, he asked Joel to stand up and watch, which, to my surprise, he did. He asked Joel to announce what the child was. I have never seen such unbridled joy on someone's face, as when Joel saw that he had a son! He yelled, "It is a boy!" and the room cheered, and I cried. Titus Joel was born at 4:28 pm at 7 pounds 4 ounces, and 19.5 inches. Joel took many pictures and videos.

We stayed in the hospital for four days so I could get better and heal some. Titus was a pure joy and the nurses doted on him. In fact, one of our night nurses commented, "I know we are not supposed to say things like this, but we took a vote, and Titus is the cutest baby in the nursery." She then showered him with kisses at the end of her shift.

He has been home for a month now, and God continues to show us his miracles through this baby. Titus "shark attacks" when he is hungry (video coming soon), gives his momma kisses when she smothers him with kisses of her own, enjoys Country music and singing, and hates diaper changes. Although we are short on sleep, we are in love with our newest family member. We thank everyone for their kindness, prayers, and well wishes. We cannot wait for everyone to meet him. Hopefully, now that he is working into a schedule of sorts, we will be able to update the blog more often!

Please enjoy the pictures!
