Just another day at the Jersey Shore

With all of the talk of "Snooki," "GTL," and "Fist Pumping," I decided that I needed to see what all of the fuss was about regarding the Jersey Shore! We went to Sea Girt, NJ where the military have a training station with a beach attached, which is free to military families. Some friends joined us and it was an absolutely beautiful day. We were not close to the quintessential Jersey boardwalk, and honestly, I think I need to save that people watching adventure for when Joel can come with us and provide running commentary;) This beach was great, the water was so clear, and it was a blast. We look forward to going back again and again over the years!

Titus and Wyatt surveying their surroundings.

Titus enjoyed digging and then throwing the sand in his hair. Despite the fact that I showered and changed him before we left, there was still a pile of sand in his car seat when we got home!

Tentatively exploring the water.

"I am the King of this beach!"

The boys loved playing in the sand with their toys.

Titus decided to drink some water from this bottle covered in sand....

....and then realized that sand does not taste so good.

But who cares? "I am at the beach!"

This is the face of a happy and content boy after our day at the Shore.

So tuckered out fifteen minutes later.

Waterbug!

We are so fortunate that our neighborhood has a pool and also lucky that our little boy loves the water, just like his parents! He enjoys splashing around, bobbing around in his float, and watching the other kids. It has been a lifesaver this summer as it has been one of the hottest on record up here in New Jersey!

Balancing on the ducky float.

Titus's version of boogie boarding.

Time-out for a water break and some people watching.

I found these sunglasses at the bottom of his swim diaper box, and thought I could let Titus try them out since he loves taking mine off and putting them on his own head. He loved taking these, putting them on, and saying, "Cool." Yes, very cool. We have a video of him doing this that I will try to post soon.

One of Titus's new pals, Wyatt, had a pool party for his first birthday. A little splashing and a little sugar made these kiddos happy!

Our Pumpkin Head!

We have been working with Titus so that he can feed himself WITH spoons and forks. It is a bit messy, but so much fun to watch!

All He wants to do is dance, dance, dance....

As we have mentioned before, Titus loves to dance. You might remember an early post when he was dancing with this little musical toy. Well, the moves just keep coming!

Where's Titus?

We have played this version of 'hide-n-seek' with Titus for a long time now, but it never gets old. Now, he plays it with his blanket, pillows, towels, and as in these pictures, with a dishtowel that he has handily stolen from the kitchen. It can provide hours of enjoyment.

"Where's Titus?"

"Here I am!"

Cookie Monster

We made some cookies the other day for a get together with one of our neighbors. Titus was fascinated by the whole process, but I think he enjoyed the sampling portion most of all.

Testing the goods.

Yes, these will do.

Having some of the finished product on the run!
